CBASE-
You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time.
- Description: The College Base Academic Subjects Examination (C-BASE) is designed to measure achievement in general education (English, Mathematics, Social Science and Science). Developed to provide colleges with an accurate assessment of academic progress, CBASE emphasizes concepts and principles derived from course materials. This exam fills the gap between generalized aptitude tests used for college entrance and specialized department exams. As a broad-based achievement test, College BASE assesses basic and enduring knowledge in each of the four subject areas and provides performance rankings in higher order thinking skills (interpretive, strategic, and adaptive reasoning abilities.)
- Eligibility:Candidates for the CBASE are typically students seeking acceptance into teacher certification programs.
- Registration:The CBASE is offered in paper-and-pencil version five times a year on Saturdays. Check the registration site for the next date. Examinees seeking to take the CBASE who miss the registration deadline must take the exam under standby registration rules. Examinees seeking special accommodations must submit an official application at least two weeks prior to the test date. There is a capacity limit for the number of test takers, so please register at your earliest convenience. The test fee is due at the time of registration. Upon registering, candidates will be given a receipt, which also serves as the admission ticket to the test. Candidates retaking the test must indicate what sections they plan to retake during their registration. The test fee is nonrefundable. If you cannot attend your registered test date, you may transfer your registration to the next testing date at UMC. You must bring your admission ticket to Testing Services at least two weeks before the registration deadline for validation if you intend to do this.
- Standby Registration:Examinees who miss the registration deadline but still want to take the CBASE must register as standbys for the test on the day of the examination. A signup list will be available at the day of the exam to register. Testing Services will admit as many examinees as possible, but space is limited. We will admit examinees in the order that they have signed up on the standby registration list. We will start admitting standby applicants once those who have previously registered are admitted. The standby registration fee is $85, payable by check or money order only. A valid driver license or other government-issued ID with a signature and photo is required for any standby applicant.
- Fees: The fee for the CBASE is $68.00, and is payable online and is non-refundable and non-tranferable.
- Day of Test: A valid photo I.D. is required on the day of the test. Non-programmable 4 or 6 function calculators are allowed for the math section. Please check the CBASE student guide for details about permissible calculators. Student guides are available at the offices of Testing Services at 205 Parker Hall.
- Score Reports:CBASE score reports are processed by the Assessment Resource Center (ARC) and mailed to examinees in approximately five weeks.

CLEP- You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time.
- Description: The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a national program of credit-by-examination that offers students the opportunity to earn college credit for achievement acquired through previous study, personal experience, adult learning, and other sources.
- Eligibility:It is important that students check with their academic advisors on the types of courses and number of credits that can be applied towards their program of study PRIOR to making an appointment and completing the CLEP exam. Only students who have fewer than 90 semester hours of college credit are eligible to take CLEP exams. In the majority of cases, the University of Missouri only accepts subject exams; general exams are usually NOT accepted. Click here for the University of Missouri-Columbia's policies. Students can retake the same CLEP test after 6 months.
- Fees: The fees for each CLEP test are $120, which MUST include a payment of $48, which is payable online and is non-refundable and non-tranferable. The second part of the fee is a $72 check or VISA, Mastercard, or American Express payment to CLEP on the day of the test. The CLEP part of the fee will increase to $77 on July 1, 2010..
- Day of Test: Two forms of photo I.D. are required on the day of the test.

Individually Proctored Exams- Fees: The fee for a proctored exam is $48. During the registration process you will choose "Appointment" as your selection date. (MCET) Missouri College English Test- You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time.
- Description: The Missouri College English Test (MCET) is an internal paper-and-pencil exam. The test lasts 40 minutes and consists of 90 questions; a T-score of 55 is required to pass the test.
- Eligibility:Pre-journalism or journalism students who have received a �C+� or lower in English 1000 are required to pass this test to be considered for admission to the School of Journalism. Examinees may retake this exam one time. Consult with your advisor if you do not pass the MCET after the second attempt.

Miller Analogies Test (MAT)- You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time.
- Description: The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is an analytical ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. Most of the analogies on the MAT are verbal analogies, and few are quantitative. It is a computer-based test.
- Eligibility:Examinees retaking exams should provide an authorization from the Psychological Corporation.
- Fees: The fee for the MAT is $103.00, and is payable online and is non-refundable and non-tranferable.
- Day of Test:Two forms of I.D. with signatures are required, and at least one should be a valid photo I.D.
- Score Reports:Scores will be mailed by the Psychological corporation within 3 weeks after the test.

National League for Nursing- You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time.
- Description: The National League for Nursing (NLN) examinations that are currently being offered at the University of Missouri Testing Office are Normal Nutrition and Pharmacology.
The Normal Nutrition NLN test assesses the student�s knowledge of normal nutrition and nutritional needs throughout the life cycle. The test is administered on-line as a multiple choice type exam. Examinees have up to 150 minutes to complete the exam.
The Pharmacology in Clinical Nursing test assesses the student�s understanding of pharmacological properties of medications and ability to utilize safe practice with medication administration. This exam is given on-line as a multiple choice type exam Examinees have up to 150 minutes to complete the exam.
- Eligibility:Students in R.N. programs are typical candidates for the NLN (Pharmacology, Normal Nutrition) exams.

- Description: The Foreign Language Placement Test (FLPT) is an computer-based exam. The FLPT is used for placement purposes for Spanish, French, or German at the University of Missouri.

Proctored ALEKS Exam- You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time.
- Description: The ALEKS exam is a computer-based exam used for mathematics placement at the University of Missouri. The proctored ALEKS exam is only for MU students seeking to test out of College Algebra AND take Math 1300 OR any MRP course outside of the Math department. Course credit is available for College Algebra with a sufficient score on the proctored ALEKS exam. Only take this exam if you are seeking the credit hours for College Algebra.See the Mathematics department's website for more information about the exam. Before registering, please consult with your adviser to make sure this exam is necessary.
- Eligibility:Open to any student at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Students attending Summer, Fall, or Winter Welcomes should register for the ALEKS exam with the Summer/Fall/Winter Welcome option. Students should use the Current MU Student option for taking the ALEKS during the regular semester.
- Fees: The fee for the proctored ALEKS is $50.00, and is payable online and is non-refundable and non-tranferable.
- Day of Test:A valid student photo I.D. is required on the day of the test.
