Accuplacer Placement Tests
- You need to know what placement tests you need to take by checking your DARS or our Exemption Criteria, or your academic advisor.
- You need to have a voucher before scheduling for a testing session.
- If you are scheduling a retest, you should be aware that the maximum you are allowed to test is three times, which includes all test records in the Minnesota State records system.
- All test scores are valid for three calendar years.
- If you have tested 3 times, and none of your scores are valid, you may test one more time.
These tests are NOT timed. But, 120 minutes are allocated for Math, Reading, and Writing tests; 90 minutes for either Math tests only, or Reading and Writing tests only, as required by the computer self-registration procedure. This time allocation proves to be enough for most people. However, you should start earlier if you plan to test before the end of the day in case you need a little more time.
Bring your Student ID Card or any official photo ID card with you to the exam to verify your identity.
CLEP Tests (currently Not available)
- You need to bring your CLEP Registration Ticket.
- You need to bring with you your personal ID card. Only government-issued ID cards are accepted, with bearer’s photo and signature. They include passport, Driver’s license, State ID card, Military ID card, etc.
