Testing Center Policies

In-person (on campus) Testing

Acts of misconduct or academic dishonesty will be reported. Candidates and students will be continuously monitored by video surveillance, walkthroughs, and the observation windows during testing. Computer activity is monitored. 

  • Must present a recognizable and current form of photo identification.
  • Must arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. You may or may not be accommodated if you are late, depending on seat availability and/or office hours.
  • Breaks, if applicable, are limited to five minutes. Personal belongings may not be accessed during breaks.
  • Electronic devices (cell phones, watches, Fitbits, smart glasses (even if prescribed) wireless devices, etc.), food, drinks, hoodies, caps, hats, coats, large jackets, and weapons are not permitted in the test room. No smoking or vaping including all electronic smoking devices. Any personal belongings will be stored in a secure location. Any necessary medication and medical devices will be allowed in the testing room upon visual inspection by the Testing Center staff.
  • Use of notes, books, or calculators is not allowed unless specified in writing by the instructor.
  • Removing any test materials from the test room is an act of misconduct.
  • Talking to or disturbing others is prohibited.
  • Discussing exam content during and after the exam with anyone is strictly prohibited.
  • Children and visitors are not allowed in the test room. Children are not allowed to be left unattended in the lobby or any other area of the college during testing.

Online (virtual) Testing 

Instances of cheating or misconduct will be reported to the testing center, with video evidence available. Candidates and students will be under constant surveillance via their webcam throughout the testing process. Computer activity is monitored. 

  • Must present a valid (current) form of photo identification. 
  • Must log-on at least 10-15 minutes before your appointment. You may or may not be accommodated if you are late, depending on the proctor availability. 
  • A complete camera scan of your entire room will need to be done before testing begins. 
  • You will need to clear your workspace and discard any scratch paper or erase the whiteboard before disconnecting from the test session. Not discarding scratch paper or erasing the whiteboard is considered an exam violation and the test scores will be invalidated.
  • Do not leave your seat unless permitted to do so by your proctor. 
  • Electronic devices (cell phones, watches, Fitbits, smart glasses (even if prescribed) wireless devices, etc.), food, drinks, hoodies, caps, hats, coats, large jackets are not permitted during your test session. No smoking or vaping including all electronic smoking devices.
  • The use of notes, books and/or calculators is not allowed. 
  • Do not allow anyone to enter the exam area. 
  • Do not read the exam out loud. 
  • For any necessary medication, medical devices, or test accommodations, notify the Testing Center, once approved by the Access and Learning Accommodations Office, in order to submit an accommodation request form.
