Before Your Exam

  • All GCSC and FSU students—including e-learning students, SAR students, and students taking make-up exams or exams outside their exam’s testing window (with instructors’ written permission)—must schedule exam appointment(s) in Register Blast at least 72  hours before their requested testing date(s) and time(s). Non-GCSC students who have requested proctoring services also must schedule exam appointment(s) in Register Blast at least 72 business hours before their requested testing date(s) and time(s).

Note: We strongly encourage you to schedule your exam appointment(s) in Register Blast well before the 72-hour deadline.

  • The last exam appointment time on Mondays–Thursdays is 3:00 p.m.; Fridays, 1:00 p.m. You must schedule your exam appointment so that you can complete your exam prior to the Testing Center’s closing times (Mondays–Thursdays, 5:00 p.m.; Fridays, 3:00 p.m.).

The Day of Your Exam

  • Please arrive at the Testing Center at least 15 minutes before your scheduled exam time.
  • When you arrive for your exam appointment(s) at the Testing Center, you must sign in on the computer in the Student Union West 1st floor. Testing Center staff will assist students in the order in which they sign in.
  • Gulf Franklin Campus (GFC) address is: 3800 Garrison Ave.  Port St. Joe, FL 32456.
  • You must present a valid photo ID (e.g., an unexpired school-issued ID, military ID, driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport) before you will be allowed to test.

During Your Exam

  • The following items are permitted in the testing room:
  • photo ID
  • car keys
  • calculator (if applicable)

The following items are not permitted in the testing room:

Limited LOCKERS are available at this time!

  • wallets
  • purses
  • cellphones
  • books and notes (unless permitted by your instructor)
  • pencil bags
  • backpacks
  • sunglasses
  • watches
  • hats
  • tobacco products, e-cigarettes, and vaporizers (GCSC is a tobacco-free campus)
  • food and/or drinks (including water) 

Preferably, you should leave any of the above items at home or in your car and not bring them to the Testing Center. However, lockers (limited number) will be provided to store any of the above items if you must bring them. 

Note: SAR students may be permitted to have the items listed above if the items are permitted in their accommodation plan.

  • Pencils, erasers, and scratch paper (if permitted by your instructor) will be provided by the Testing Center and must be returned to Testing Center staff at the end of your exam. 
  • Leaving the testing room or taking breaks (including restroom breaks) during an exam is not permitted.
  • Exam time is self-monitored.
  • Exam proctoring ends at 5:00p.m. Monday through Thursday and at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, regardless of whether or not you’ve completed your exam. In other words, you may come in to test at 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, but you must be finished by 5:00 p.m.; you may come in to test at 1:00 p.m. Friday, but you must be finished by 3:00 p.m.
  • The Testing Center uses a visual monitoring system during all testing.
  • Due to college policy, children (anyone under the age of 18 years who is not a dual-enrolled student) are not allowed to sit in the testing area unaccompanied by an adult nor are they allowed to be with you in the testing room.

Taking Your Exam Outside the Exam’s Testing Window (Either Early or Late)

  • You must have your instructor’s written permission before taking an exam outside of an exam’s testing window. Please bring verification of your instructor's written permission to your exam appointment.
